Spring in Melbourne = rabbit burrows, I mean, penguin burrows!


It's Spring! Head to Melbourne’s bayside suburb of St Kilda for some really exciting experiences that end in a sunset penguin march at the St Kilda breakwater! Yes, penguins!!!

Take a fun ride on a light rail tram to St Kilda and brunch at one of the famous cake shops, all in a row on Acland Street. Then take a peak at St Kilda Beach before going shopping in the streets surrounding including Barkly and Carlisle streets. Stop for some expert coffee that Melbourne is famous for. You won’t be stuck for choice. For the nearest local on-site coffee roaster, try Monk Bodhi Dharma near the Town Hall. Swing by Beautyologist to find the world renowned Australian skincare range Aesop.

For lunch, grab takeaway seafood lunch from Claypots and head to the beach to soak up the gentle Spring sunshine. For the afternoon, get your thrills at famous Luna Park or explore Fitzroy street at the end of the Esplanade for St Kilda must-see shops; Readings bookstore and homewares at Scout House.

Don’t forget to reach the St Kilda Pier at sunset to see the wild penguins marching. St Kilda has a colony of Little penguins and chicks can hatch from from August right through Springtime awww!
